Coaching has been an outlet for me to help relay my knowledge and experiences to youth athletes aspiring to achieve their own goals on and off the court. Since I strongly believe that sports have the ability to provide us with attributes that we can use in our everyday lives, my goal and focus as a coach is to not only provide a fun and enjoyable atmosphere to learn but to also teach the importance of teamwork and a solid work ethic.
Basketball has been especially important to me since it is where I developed lifelong skills that have helped me get to where I am today. I first started playing basketball when I was growing up in San Diego. In high school, I was a 3-year varsity basketball starter at Torrey Pines High School, while also lettering in 2 other sports. Despite my strong passion for basketball, I ended up accepting a soccer scholarship to Saint Mary’s College of California where I learned valuable lessons in leadership and teamwork.
After graduation, my continued interest in basketball brought me back to the sport in the form of coaching. I ended up coaching 8th-grade boys and girls basketball at local middle schools in San Diego. I was also part of a club basketball program called Falcons Elite, where I coached a variety of teams between 4th-12th grade.
